On one of the MANY hot days in Belize, my friends and I decided to visit Mariposa Jungle Lodge. We heard that it has many different activities to do on site, and has a nice pool that we could enjoy for the day. Another point that caught our attention was the vegan food that they provide. One of my friends is a vegetarian, so the vegan options excited us because we finally found a place that has something that each of us would enjoy. (I like pools, one of my friends like table games, and my other friend is vegetarian) It was the perfect match.

Mariposa Jungle Lodge is located very close to the Barton Creek Village in the Cayo District of Belize. This is an ideal location, because it places you close to a very popular destination called the Rio on Pools, and also Big Rock Falls. The rooms, which are pictured above, are beautiful, clean, and cozy.
Fun Activities to do While at Mariposa Jungle Lodge in Belize
- Enjoy the refreshing swimming pool
- Play some of the table games (Foosball and ping pong)
- Play one of the board games that they have in their lounge
- Read some of the books that are on display
- Exercise on one of their exercise machines
- Grab some frisbees and start playing frisbee golf!
- Jump on their sturdy and fun trampoline
- Take your child to the playset they have outside (Or you can enjoy it yourself; adults need to have fun too!)
- Order one of their DELICIOUS mixed drinks and relax by the pool
- Order one of their vegan specials that their chef prepared. (They sell food for non-vegans as well.)
- Book a relaxing massage, yoga, or acupuncture session

These are only some of the many activities you can do at Mariposa Jungle Lodge. Ask their friendly and helpful staff about any additional things you can partake in while you are there. The long list of activities amazed me. I have not come across another place in Belize that has so many different categories of entertainment. They literally have something for everyone. My Personal Experience at Mariposa Jungle Lodge
As we arrived at Mariposa, we were immediately greeted by one of the owners of the lodge. He was extremely friendly and tried to accommodate us in every way possible. His lovely daughter later introduced herself to us as well. They did not have their bartender and cook there for the day, but she made the drinks and food for us, herself. The pina colada I ordered tasted so delicious; I would have never thought that she did not have much experience making drinks. We loved the energy the owners had and appreciated their efforts to ensure we had a good time.
I had never played foosball, nor ping pong in my life. I got the opportunity to do so while I visited Mariposa, and I must say, I deeply enjoyed the experience. My friends and I shared a lot of laughter as we played the different games. Even the one-year-old baby that was with us had fun playing with some of the balls that she found around the entertainment center. We had the baby go down the slide a few times, swam in the pool, and I was on one of their exercise machines for a little while. At the end of the day, we wished we were able to stay longer to enjoy even more of the amenities that they offered. I will definitely plan another stay there soon!
