I have visited many different restaurants, in San Ignacio, over the years, which enabled me to compile a list of the 4 best restaurants, in San Ignacio. I love good food, and absolutely hate when I waste money on a meal that is subpar. This is why I am very careful in the places I choose to purchase food from. I am not usually a risk taker when it comes to buying food, so I prefer to hear really good recommendations about a place, before I decide to purchase food from them. After much trial and error, I can now confidently state the 4 best restaurants in San Ignacio, that locals love to eat at.

1. Tolacca Smoke House

I have visited Tolacca too many times to count. I always purchase their ribs. However, they have a wide selection of amazing meat options that locals love to purchase. If you are a meat lover, I greatly urge you to visit this popular restaurant in Santa Elena. It is guaranteed to impress you with the quality of their food. Their drinks are always delicious as well, I have never been disappointed.

The restaurant is an outdoor establishment, that is partly enclosed with plants. They have a small fish pond as well that is beautiful to look at. Due to their popularity, there are certain times of the year when they quickly run out of seats for additional customers. It is always a good idea to call ahead of time and reserve your place for the night.

2. Recino’s Wine House

Pasta-and-wine

The Recino’s Winehouse is my personal favorite place to visit in San Ignacio, Cayo. I love the romantic ambience inside the establishment, and I absolutely love the friendly and knowledgeable staff that they have. They are always so helpful and because I go there regularly, they have memorized the wine that I always want to drink when I am there. The staff have also suggested PERFECT substitutes in the event that they ran out of the wine that I prefer (this rarely happened).

Recino’s Winehouse has an amazing chef that produces some of the best food I have tasted in Belize. I almost always order the coconut shrimp when I go there. However, I LOVE their pastas as well. Pasta is actually my favorite food to eat. It doesn’t really matter what kind of pasta, once it is delicious and well made, I will love it.

The restaurant has AC inside and they play nice music that you can easily vibe to. I have also been able to request specific songs or genres that I would like them to play for the night. Once Recino’s Winehouse is on the list of places I’ll be visiting for the night, I instantly know that I will enjoy my time out.

3. Crave House of Flavour

Ribs from Crave Restaurant in San Ignacio

Crave Restaurant is definitely a place to visit when you are in San Ignacio. I am always blown away by the delicious plates of food that they have served me, in the past. Every single bite I take is filled with abundantly rich flavor and seasonings that perfectly compliment each other. Whenever I am in the mood for sangria, this is the restaurant that I visit, because they have THE BEST sangria that I have ever tasted in Belize, so far.

This restaurant is in a very small enclosed place with a romantic-type ambience. Due to its small size and large popularity, they are almost always sold out with their reservations for the night. Whenever I plan to visit, I always ensure that I have a reservation made ahead of time.

4. The Guava Limb Café

I do not visit Guava Limb as much as I would like to. However, for the times that I did purchase food from them, I was usually impressed with the quality and taste. It is a very popular choice for locals who want to go somewhere for some sort of celebration. They have an upstairs and downstairs dining area, which allows them to host a larger group of people. Their restaurant is also open and has a lot of beautiful flowers and birds that surround it.

The mojitos that I have tried were always very delicious. I don’t remember there ever being a time that I wanted to go their and they were too full to accommodate me. However, it never hurts to call and book your reservation ahead of time.
