Introduction to My Blog

I am just your average, everyday person, who happens to have an interest in writing. My inspiration to start this blog came because the Covid-19 Pandemic greatly affected my life in 2020. I am hoping this blog will provide me with a way to pass some time. While doing so, I hope it also provides my readers with valuable information that I have attained over the years. Let me give you a quick introduction to my blog.

Before the pandemic hit, I was heavily involved in the wonderful and thriving tourism industry in the country of Belize. If you have never visited or heard of Belize, I highly urge you to add it to your list of future travel destinations. In my upcoming blog posts, I will be giving various reasons why Belize is an amazing place to visit. If you have been to my lovely country before, let me know what your experience was, in the comments. I look forward to both sharing and receiving wonderful stories about my country.

My Background

I am a born and raised Belizean who grew up in a very loving and somewhat conservative household. After moving out, to pursue higher education, I was immediately introduced into the world of tourism by working at a small but thriving hotel in Belmopan City. This started to open my eyes to the many opportunities that tourism held. It also introduced me to some of the different attractions that my country has to offer. Sadly, I was not previously aware of all the attractions in my country. I also did not learn how valuable tourism was, until I entered the industry.

After finishing school, I had about two other jobs that did not involve tourism, but then, I landed in San Ignacio. This was where I gained an overwhelming amount of knowledge on the full tourism industry of my country. I believe I still have a lot more to learn, however, I have gained enough knowledge to now be able to advise countless tourists on the best ways to make the most of their visit when they arrive. I even have some information that locals might find useful, as well.

Some Interests of Mine

Apart from tourism, I do have a few other interests. I like reading books, when I can find time to do so, and I also absolutely love writing poetry. Keep following my blog and you just might get some exclusive views on some of the very personal poems I have written over the years. I usually write poems to vent my sad or angry emotions. Poetry writing has helped me through some of the lowest points in my life.

Another interest of mine is my family and friends. Sadly, my work life has made it hard to maintain frequent, in-person interactions, however, I do highly value the relationships I have with them. My family and friends were great supporters of mine through this pandemic and all the losses that I have faced due to losing my job. There is no way to tell where I would be without all their support and love.

To end this blog introduction post, I would like to thank each of you for taking the time to read my little intro. More interesting and helpful content will be released over the next few weeks.
